Wow! It's been a long time since I've posted on here. I'm excited to be back! I'm also excited to announce that I have a new release date! Blood Princess will be available  for purchase and download on the Finch Books website and will be available for pre-order at select retail options on January 26, 2015. General release for all retail options will be on March 22, 2016.

Soon, I will post an update about buying details and other fun things, but for now, this is all the news I've got.

ALSO:

Public Service Announcement: Blood Princess is NOT about vampires. I get that a lot. I also totally understand where it comes from. But it's actually about a princess who also happens to be an assassin. I'll be posting more about that later!

Well, have a great day! I know I will. I'll be writing away, and celebrating my Grammy's birthday! Woo!

See you later!

Being a Senior and Writing a Sequel

So, today was my first day of my senior year of college! Well, my first senior year, anyways. I get to be in college for five years instead of four, but that's okay. More fun for me!

I'm really tired now, but it was a pretty great day. I'm really excited for my Japanese class. I know it's going to be a challenging language to learn, but I'm certain that it will be very rewarding.

As far as book news, I don't have much. There's going to be A LOT of awesome news I'll post in September. Maybe I'll even get to post my cover! Who knows, but look out for that! In the meantime, I'm writing book two of the series.

I'm finding my sequel to be much less difficult to write than Blood Princess was.  I know my characters really well now. I guess that's a weird thing to say, since, you know, I made them up in the first place. I just know them as well as I know myself. I know how Laura would react in any situation, and Shane too. When you first create a character, that's the kind of stuff you have to think about. Now that I've done all that, it's much easier to get into the character's head when I'm writing.

You'd think that means that the writing process goes a lot faster, but it hasn't. Netflix exists, so there is the eternal struggle of watch Netflix or be productive. Netflix wins a lot.

Well, that's all the news I've got for now. I'm so excited to share Blood Princess with you all. Only a few more months, and it will be here!

Well, goodnight everyone! Thanks for the support!

Editing: Round One is Complete!

I just finished my first round of editing! It feels so real now, and I can't wait for Blood Princess to come out in November. Surprisingly, I enjoyed editing. I finished 20 chapters on Monday and I completed the last 7 tonight.

I've also been drawing some of my characters! I'll probably upload some of those sketches on my blog whenever I finish up one of everybody. I have so many ideas for pictures that I'd like to draw, and so little motivation to do so. It would be nice if there was a pen that could just scan the image from my brain and draw it for me. It's 2015. Why don't we have that? We don't even have flying cars for everyday use. Back to the Future was wrong.

Anyway, now that I'm done with that rant. Well, really there's not much else going on. I get to see my best friend in FIVE DAYS after being separated from her for six weeks. FIVE DAYS. Let me tell you, I am so pumped!

Speaking of friends, I just wanted to take a minute and thank everybody for the support that I've gotten since I announced that Blood Princess was getting published. It has meant the world to me! I'm so grateful that God has blessed me by putting so many encouraging, supportive people in my life. So if you've read one of my blog posts, liked my facebook page, shared something, or even just liked my announcement, thank you so much! It means so much to me.

So, that's all I've got for tonight. Now that I've updated my blog and finished my editing, I can go to sleep!

Goodnight!

Blood Princess Playlist

Hey everybody! I spent a lot of my night last night coming up with a song that goes with each chapter of my novel, Blood Princess. I really love music, so here's some of the songs that inspired me while I was writing the book!

1. A Dangerous Mind by Within Temptation..  I first heard this song in the 7th grade, and I listened to it frequently while writing chapter one. It's goes along pretty well with how Laura feels about her sister's actions in the first chapter.

2. Words as Weapons by Seether. Basically, this is how Shane feels about the people in charge of him.

3. Fear by Sarah McLachlan. Laura really doesn't know what to think in this chapter, and she's really bothered by the things that are happening in her life. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good lyric video for this, but here's the song.

4. Cover Up by Trapt. Shane's getting to see who Laura really is and how she hides it.

5. Evil Angel by Breaking Benjamin. This basically describes Laura not knowing what to do about her sister.

6. I Can't Find You by SolarSolar.  Literally.

7. Hush by Hellyeah.  I mean, just listen to the chorus and second verse. This is how Laura feels about her family and what's happened in her life so far.

8. Tell Mama by the Civil Wars. Uh, I think I should stop writing these descriptive sentences or I'm gonna give everything away.

9. I Shall Believe by Sheryl Crow  Laura and Shane.

10. Make a Shadow by Meg Myers. Yeah. I don't have much to say. It just goes.

11.I Miss You by Blink 182. This is another one that has gone with the story since it's beginning. A lot has changed, but the heart of this chapter is the same as it has always been.

12.First Fires by Bonobo. Yep.

13. And the World Was Gone by Snow Ghosts. Couldn't find a lyric video, so I just posted the music video. I haven't watched it before, so hopefully it's good.

14. No Leaf Clover by Metallica. Yeah, this is Shane's life. Poor dude.

15. The Power of Love by Gabrielle Alpin. Laura learns this.

16.And We Run by Within Temptation feat. Xzibit. Again, literally.

17.Help Me Close My Eyes by Those Dancing Days. Everyone is done with everything.

18. Simple Man by Shinedown. Shane.

19. War of Hearts by Ruelle. Again, no lyrics. Sorry. Finding lyric videos is harder than you'd think.

20. Need to Be by Memphis May Fire. Shane's goals.

21.Battle Born by Five Finger Death Punch. My goodness why is it so difficult to find lyric videos?

22.Only One In Color by Trapt. Not only does it go well with Blood Princess, it is also one of the most adorable songs ever.

23. One by Metallica. Laura is just so done with everything. Also, the guitar in the intro to this song is beautiful.

24.Halo by Starset. So much Laura and Shane perfection is in this song.

25. Diamond Eyes by Shinedown.  This should be Laura's theme song.

26.Love Is to Die by Warpaint.

Aaand for the last chapter.....there are two songs! Woo!

27.  Good Man by Devour the Day and Remember Everything by Five Finger Death Punch. Both of these songs are PERFECT for everything that happens in this last chapter. PERFECT.

Well, that's it. Hopefully you enjoy the music. Now you see where a little bit of my inspiration is from!

Hey everybody!

Well, I've never had a blog before, so this is quite the new experience for me.

I guess I should start with a little bit about myself.

My name's Rebecca Ann Piercey, but most people just call me Becca. Some people call me Liz, although I'm not entirely sure how I got that nick name. Apparently it's because I think lizards are cute.

I'm (almost) 21 and I'm a senior in college.

I love to write, and I write often. I have more book ideas than I know what to do with, but I've only successfully written two novels.  While this may make me a nerd, at least I'll never have to think hard about a "unique fact about myself" when I get stuck playing that stupid icebreaker game. (Hopefully, that will be over after college)

I'm a Christian. That probably should have been the first thing I wrote about, as it's the most important thing about my identity. I asked Jesus into my heart at age four and have been following Him ever since! I also go to the most awesome church ever, so there's that. I feel like God has called me to be a missionary (this is a rather recent development), so right now I'm learning a new language and preparing myself for that.

I really love hot sauce. I mean, really. I used to carry it around with me in my purse.

I'm also an avid reader. Some of my favorite books include, The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa, anything by Katie McGarry, the Matched series by Allie Condie, the Watersong series by Amanda Hocking, and the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling.

There have also been a few books that have really changed my life. Divergent is the first of those books. The lesson of selflessness that Tris learns is something that not only moved me as a reader, but helped me grow in my faith. This is something I hope to do with my own books. The second book is Ink by Amanda Sun. I love the beautiful detailed description of Japan and it's culture in this book. I plan on going there one day, and Amanda Sun's series makes me so excited to go.

I really also like TV. Netflix is life. Some of my favorite shows include: Roswell, One Tree Hill, Supernatural, Teen Wolf, Finding Carter and Reign.

Other than that, I guess I really like to draw. I hardly ever upload my art anymore, but maybe I'll post a few sketches here and there.

Well, that's me! Hopefully, this blog is off to a good start.

Peace out, yo.

-Becca
